Happy Deepavali ~ Kolam Competition

This is the first time I witness how the whole "Kolam" process. It was fun even though I did not participate in the making process. Should have join the fun. HaHaHa!

This was an event held by my new company, perhaps it's different industry. I never had such event held back at KL either working as Vendor or Corporate Consulting firm. Anyway, everything here is much more surprises for me =P

The day before the competition start, there's volunteer preparing the rice dye with color. The color was so attractive. Basically they bought the coloring for Jelly.

They are celebrating one day earlier, this could be due to many of their staff might be taking long leave since Friday is a Malaysia public holiday for the Indian.

The Kolam competition start 9am and ended 11am. Each group will have 2 partners and the picture are provided by the Organizer. Base on the picture, they are require to paint and color the Peacock using the colored rice with their own creativity. It was held at the reception area, main entrance of the office.

The Deepavali celebration was started at afternoon 4pm with the "lighting of  lamp" ceremony, then followed by the traditional Indian dance. Performed by the internal employee. Is called "Baratha Natyam" & “Bangra”

The dancers are really energetic =D

Let's see how creative the winners color painting...=P Do you notice the 3rd one was having a Nike trademark on the peacock wing? Hahaha!

Food was served after the announcement of the Kolam making winner. 3 Grand price with 2 consolations hamper.

delicious Indian food! ^_^

Is was fun to have such celebration in a multi racial company =) As the other races also wear the Indian costume or Punjabi costume to work. This is also my first time to celebrate together with all colleagues, really special to me. I really enjoyed the food and also the dances!
