Italian Wine Pairing @ That Little Wine Bar

Italian Wine Pairing - That Little Wine Bar, Penang

The RM198 wine pairing is finally back! I remembered the very last visit at TLWB is their RM98 Austria Wine Pairing. But that was not what I expecting. Anyway, this is better! It's 2nd time having Italian Wine Pairing.

I not sure why their rate range from RM98 to RM198. Sometimes, the wine pairing charge RM138 nett. RM98 definitely is a last final try out for me.>_< But if is RM138 I think I will consider to try it out more on the wine and also the food.

[I'm working on the photos and will note some comment bout the food... so stay tuned!]

Thanks for visiting ....hope you could follow my page for latest update :) Cheers!

Authentic Indian Wine Pairing - That Little Wine Bar, Penang

Here comes another monthly wine pairing from TLWBThe chef always likes to try out new recipe and good thing is they accept feedback & comment and willing to improve to suit the customer needs. I think this etiquette should have for every F&B owner.

The wine pairing 4 course meal cost RM138 which inclusive of 4 glasses of wine. It depend on the day theme and they chef will pair the best wine to go with the food.

Had never heard of taking Indian food pairing with wine but I think the chef have did some research before putting it on. It's quite a brilliant idea for them to pair the champagne, white wine, rose wine & the dessert wine as none of these categories are full body wine.

So, the Indian food recipe was inspired from a few state of India. Lucknow (North India), Kolkata (West India) & Hyderabad (South). I been to the Bangalore but yet to travel to try out the food from others state. So, it a bonus for me to try all in a day without taking the flight! Hahaha!

Among the course, I will personally rate the food below with some comments,
Lukhimi - thick samosa flour skin, the filling is grind too fine and not much of taste of spices & lack of the aroma.
Seekh Kebab - the mint chutney goes very well but I personally think there's still room for improvement in the dressing part. Perhaps instead making into 1 long sausage size, it could be divided into 2 - 3 mini sausage which I think is more presentable.
Katchi Roll - This is beef with thin Roomali bread, the beef is cook in right timing, not too hard to chew and taste the juicy meat. Just the wrapper is a little bit loosened and once is cut the content (beef) scattered. This goes perfect with their home made mint sauce!    (I like this beef but maybe lamb could be better combination with the Indian theme?)
Subbu's Kofta Curry - Pork meat ball in green curry with the tumeric rice and shermal. The rice are well cook and the pork is perfectly soft! But the green curry gravy is not hot/ spicy..It could taste even better to have the "hot" sense
Phirni - Indian rice pudding dessert. Strong cow milk but I personally don't like it as it taste sweet in milk.
Su the chef!

Looking forward on their next upcoming Malaysian Wine Pairing~

Hainan Western Food, Terengganu Rd Penang - Say NO NO!

This shop previously was a steamboat shabu shabu but I think the respond wasn't that good and within few month later they changed to serves western food with restaurant name - Mount Erskine Hai Nan Western (Branch). Situated at Jalan Terengganu, nearby Lai Lai Food Court. Cornered lot unit.

Went for late dinner around 10pm after swimming. It's our first time trying this western as everytime we passed by we saw the crowd is there. Wondering perhaps the food/ service will be good??

Unfortunately, it wasn't! We have made an order for mixed grill combo - grilled chicken & lamb chop, Grill Salmon Head (1/2) & Chicken Cordon Bleu.

After looking around at the workers, it was quite obvious it's the so-call family business. Can see the three generation are there.

Some Comment after the food tasting, BAD, 1ST TIME ALSO LAST TIME!

Grill Chicken & Lamb -dry without any gravy sauce. Lamb overcooked and salad without dressing! The cabbage are obviously chopped and left aside 'drying'! We asked for tissue, then the boss (a man but looks like 'ai zo mai zo' (in hokkien it means "happy I do not happy I don't do") passed us the tissue book without a smile! Really KNS! Such bad service? Helo, as a boss I think he need to attend F&B course before start this business!)

Salmon Head - all this while I suppose is serve with sweet sauce right? But once I tasted it, OMG! It was super salty! I called the waiter, (the bosses are standing far aside glancing how the staff served) then commented it's too salty until my tongue felt the numb. Can't really continue my meal which I've really tried it hard. >_<

Then one old lady (I believe is the boss mother in law / mother) came and ask what happening? I told her it's too salty but guess what, she responded me in Chinese with "So, what to you want?"

What the heck? Such rude & bad service?! Then here come the waiter trying to be nice, I told her to taste the sauce as it's really salty. Then she helped me to check with the kitchen. Here even more KNS! The bloody snobbish chef answered her with "It's like this one!" Without tasting it! Really want tell the boss to close shop! What a attitude?

Then the waiter put the same old plate back  on my table. I really pekcek & beh tahan (can't stand) but trying to be patient, I told her again that I can't take the food, insist asking her to taste my sauce but she do not dare to try. Therefore, I told her to remove all sauce but to give me only the fish head.

After 10 mins, the same old fish are back but without the sauce! But guess what! When I continue eating the fish, the gills are still there?! Really made my fire burning again! I 'dig' the meat out and place it there! Calling the waiter 3rd time, but really no more patient. How come the gills are still there? They don't even know the basic in how to clean to fish head?! Oh Gosh! I really feel like talking to the chef in person. But the stupid snobbish chef I believe will not listen to any comment after knowing his 1st respond of the salty sauce.

I talked to her nicely, saying that she should pass the message to the chef on the customer feedback. But it's seem she commented she is just partimer and can't really do much on it. At the same time, I can see the boss are looking at my table but none of them walk by and provide good service.

In conclusion, this will be my first time & last time visiting / supporting them and they don't listen to customer feedback as first reason. Secondly, their service is super duper bad! Do not respect customer and prioritize customer satisfaction. The bosses provides lower service than the hired waiters? What a role model? I suggest they should say Bye to their business!
